Survey Restrictions

Sometimes you may want to restrict access to a survey so that only the people you want can take part in it. You can do this using the survey restrictions feature that allows you to restrict access using a password or by IP address.
All survey restrictions can be accessed by editing your survey.

Note that you can add both password and IP restrictions to a survey. The IP restrictions will be applied before the password.
Password Restrictions
Password restrictions are ideal if you want to restrict access to a survey but allow specific visitors to take part. To enable password restrictions first enable the password restriction feature.
![]()
Then enter a password for the survey.

Once saved your survey will now require a password before it will be displayed.

Note that you, as editor of the survey, will always be able to view the survey regardless of restrictions. If you want to verify the restrictions you will first need to logout, or use another browser.
IP Restrictions
IP restrictions use the visitors IP address to restrict access. This makes it ideal if you want to restrict your survey to a particular computer or set of computers. For example, you could create a survey and restrict it to the IP address of your company and so make it accessible only to people from your office.
To enable IP restrictions first enable the IP restriction feature:
![]()
Then enter IP addresses, with one address per line.

Note that you can use the wildcard character * to specify a set of IP addresses. For example, 266.1.1.* will match any IP address from 266.1.1.1 to 266.1.1.255.
Once saved your survey will only be visible to people on the specified IP address.

Note that you, as editor of the survey, will always be able to view the survey regardless of restrictions. If you want to verify the restrictions you will first need to logout, or use another browser.
